Hodge Podge 101

Joyce was not with us last week thanks to Frankenstorm Sandy.  I missed Hodge Podge.  I am so glad she is back.  Our last time together she asked for our favorite and least favorite thing about the Hodgepodge. According to Joyce a few people said they felt if they weren't in the top 15 to link up they didn't get as many visitors as those who linked up early. so she has issued a challenge for   everyone who has the time to stop back by the Hodgepodge later in the day or week to say hi to bloggers further down the list. Everyone wants to feel like they're part of the neighborhood! If you are new to Hodge Podge action then head over to Joyces blog and grab the questions and play along with us.
Ready?  Here are my answers to this week's questions-
1. What rule of life should never be broken?  I have to agree with Joyce on this one and say The Golden Rule.  You know the one that goes.."Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Sadly it is broken on a fairly regular basis. I know a lot of people who believe it says..."Do unto others before they can do it to you."

2. What's your favorite family recipe?   My mom's banana pudding and my dad's country fried steak.  Franks enchiladas, my bread pudding with praline sauce.

3. Is the media manipulative?  I think so.  You can tell who they favor by the tone of their voice....even if they don't just go right out and say it.  There is more bias than facts on every single news program.  When the debates were taking place....the two candidatees debated.....then the media reported on it....discussed it with each other.....dissected it....analyzed it....and finally spit it back out to the public so we could get some nut from all these facts they gleened for us.  I used to love watching the news....now...not so much.
4. Joyce and her hubby saw Skyfall last weekend...are you a fan of the Bond films? If so, who's your favorite Bond?  I am not a big fan of the Bond films, I have seen all the ones with Sean Connery.....but then again that was my era.  I have seen most of the newer ones and I can honestly say I don't have a favorite Bond.

5. What is one thing you hope people never say about you?  That I gave up and quit trying.
6. What's a nearby tourist attraction you'd like to see, but haven't gotten around to visiting? I grew up with parents who believed you should see everything there is where you live before traveling elsewhere.  I have pretty much covered Alabama....but there are some places I would love to take Frank.....I would love for him to see Ivy Green (birthplace of Helen Keller), Natural Bridge, The Boll Weevil monument (Enterprise), Shorter Mansion (Eufaula), AND the eagles soaring at Lake Guntersville.  We travel a lot and have a book called Curiosities in Alabama and we do cover them in our roaming around.

7. Where's your favorite tree?
My favorite tree is in West Palm Beach, Florida in a park across the street from the Norton Art Gallery.  It is a banyan tree.  Their root system is amazing and we spent hours climbing these trees.  They made great jails too.

8. Insert your own random thought here. I am going to run with Joyce's random thought and ask....have you ever met in real life some of your blogger buddies?  If so, what did you do?  I would love to meet several of mine.  I was in Knoxville last year and got to meet Mary(Life In A Small Town).  We met at Shoneys across from the airport on the Alcoa Hwy, had dessert and had a wonderful visit.  I really do know a few.....My daughter Kat(Zambeste) started blogging when she made her first mission trip to Moldova in 2011.  There is Trina(Random Thoughts), who teaches across the hall from me.  We have been friends for about 17+ years.  I also know Alaina (Sissy's  Sweets) and (Ladner's Latest), she was my intern from Auburn several moons ago.  I have loved blogging and look at each new day as a new adventure.  Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.  Maybe I will get linked early.....what do you think?
