Roller Coaster Wimp

So before Tom left, we were in Texas for a week.

On one of those days we went to Six Flags.

Now, I’ll fully admit that I’m a wimp. I don’t do roller coasters anymore. I used to love them. My son, he wants to do all roller coasters. This is a problem because Tom and I don’t like them.

So we enlisted help.

In the form of my mother.

Yes, I know it’s really sad that Tommy’s grandmother had to go on the roller coasters.

They went on one called Boomerang. I’d have cried. I thought Tommy might but he came back over and went, “That was awesome.” Then they went on the wooden roller coaster called The Rattler, and Tommy thought that was cool too.

“I wasn’t afraid at all!”

Seriously? How can he not be afraid of a roller coaster made of WOOD? OF WOOD?

He would have gone on more but he was too short for the rest.

I’d like to say that it was an enjoyable time. But for awhile Tom was pouting because he doesn’t like A) crowds and B) the heat in Texas. So he’d just stand there sulking and I’d remind him that this was for the children and he’d grumble and go, “I just want to go home.” I was about to pour my water, encased in a Six Flags souvenir bottle (free refills!) over his head.

Natalie was pissy because she couldn’t go on some of the rides she wanted to go on because she was too short.

I took her on a train ride and she was all, “WTF?”

I think she felt she was above the train that just went around the track. At like two miles per hour.

I tried to get her to smile and she went, “I don’t yike to smile and I don’t yike dis train.”

When the train started moving she cheered up a little bit.

She especially loved driving a Wiggles car. This picture amuses me because Tom is so big stuck in such a tiny car.

We took her on a fruit salad ride. She yiked that at least.

I ended up getting a funnel cake so I was happy.

Maybe by the time we go back Tommy will be able to go on all the roller coasters.

We’ll have to bring my Mom, naturally.

‘Cause he has a pair of wimps for parents.

Sorry kid.
