“Happy Birthday!” I called out to Tommy on Saturday.
“Thanks!” he answered and tried to brush past me so he could race downstairs and see what presents he got.
I grabbed his arm. “Wait.” I held him close to me. He smelled like a mixture of sweat and the cereal he had for breakfast. “I can’t believe you’re 11. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was on the hospital bed, screaming for the epidural…”
“Awesome.” Tommy tried to break free.
“Gosh, time goes by so quickly. Soon you’ll be taller than I am. Your feet will start to stink and you’ll try and see if you can sneak online to get a Facebook account,” I mused into his hair that actually DID smell a little like feet.
“Mom?” Tommy said impatiently.
“Oh, okay. Let’s go see what you got.”
He was happy to get Super Paper Mario. He’s been wanting that one for awhile. He’s not into Call of Duty or games like that. He’s all about Mario.
He’s outgrown a lot of toys but he still love Transformers.
And he loves Legos. Natalie was happy playing with the paper.
We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and he got to sit on the saddle.
Then after dinner (he wanted spaghetti) he got more gifts:
He said that his “11 birthday was better than his 10.” Awesome.
After that we had cake:
The candles glowed color. I thought that was pretty cool.
And yes, the cake was very tasty!
Now onto getting ready for Natalie’s birthday…she turns 6 on March 19th!
