About The Book: Journey back to a simpler time, to a small English village where nothing out of the ordinary ever happens. Except at Christmastime. When a mysterious angel suddenly appears in a lowly candlemaker's shop, the holy and the human collide in a way that only God could imagine. Glowing bright with a timeless message, The Christmas Candle will warm your heart with a surprising reminder of God's bountiful love.
About the Author: More than 100 million readers have found comfort in the writings of Max Lucado. He ministers at the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Denalyn, and a sweet but misbehaving mutt, Andy.
My Thoughts On The Book: I actually set out to read this short book in small sessions before going to bed each night. I figured I could read it in a week, but that is not what happened. Once I began reading the novella I could not put it down and ended up reading it all in one sitting. I loved it. I am a huge fan of Max Lucado and that is why I chose to review this book! He is one of my favorite Non-fiction christian writers. This is the very first work of fiction I have ever read and it is as well-written as the rest of his works. I loved the historical aspect of it. I believe every one should read The Christmas Candle and catch a glimpse of actions about faith, miracles and God's power. I don't want to spoil it for another reader but you will love the story of the angel who comes every twenty-five years to bless the candle made by the Chandler of Gladstone. I believe this will become a Christmas classic.

Stones For Bread
About The Author: Christa Parrish is the award-winning author of four novels and founder of Breaking the Sea Ministries. She lives in upstate New York with her husband, pastor and writer Chris Coppernoll, and they have four children in their blended family. When not writing, she is creative director of Concentric, a contemporary "arts-based" worship service, co-leads her church's youth ministry, and produces a weekly radio show. She's at work on her fifth novel, and is now also slightly obsessed with baking wild yeast bread.
My Thoughts On The Book: This is a wonderfully well-written book about life, making bread, love, childhood stories, and love. I have been working with bread dough a lot the last 2 weeks, so I could easily relate to this story. As someone who began baking bread and experimenting with different flours and flavors for the first time last year I was drawn immediately to the book. I was delighted to get all the recipes for Leisl's breads. Leisl's life with bread was both a heartbreaking and a happy story. I loved the way the book skipped back and forth, from Liesl's "current" story to her history to the history of bread -- Parrish definitely keeps your mind engaged while you read. From the moment I began the story I was hooked and felt as if I knew the characters personally. I definitely enjoyed the book and would recommend this book! This book would be a great gift and great for your own personal library.

About The Author: Thrills, mystery, suspense, romance: Margaret Brownley penned it all. Nothing wrong with this--except Margaret happened to be writing for the church newsletter at the time. After making the church picnic read like a Grisham novel, her former pastor took her aside and said, "Maybe God's calling you to write fiction." So that's what Margaret did. She's now a New York Times bestselling author and a Romance Writers of America RITA finalist with more than 25 novels to her credit. Her first non-fiction book "Grieving God's Way: the Lasting Path to Hope and Healing" has won much critical acclaim. She is currently working on the third book in her "Brides of Last Chance Ranch series." Not bad for someone who flunked 8th grade English. Just don't ask her to diagram a sentence.
My Thoughts On The Book: Margaret Brownley had me from the beginning. The opening chapter of the story had some keystone cop style humor that made me laugh out loud and kept me glued to the book. The book had a fast moving plot and you hated to put it down for fear that you would miss something. When I closed the book I was in a state of sheer delight. This was my kind of story. I loved it! One of my favorite parts of the book was the interaction between the hero and heroine. The whole story reminded me of the old B grade westerns I used to watch as a child. This book is the third in a series and I didn't realize that when I started reading it. It does not matter if you have not read the other two stories, because this one makes a great stand-alone story.

And besides, this just may be the ticket to a golden windfall. But when Harriet’s friend Martha comes for a visit, she convinces Harriet to come clean because she is suspicious and just doesn’t buy that the operation is legit. And it takes an emergency with her daughter-in-law, Prudence, for Harriet to learn where her true treasure lies.

She is a frequent speaker and writing instructor. Joyce lives in Pennsylvania with her son, Adam, and their crazy cat, Mango, who likes to eat nachos.
My Thoughts On The Book: Harriet Beamer Strikes Gold is one of the most delightful books I have read in some time! It is so much fun, definitely an easy read and from the moment I started the first page I was hooked. I loved Harriet Beamer, her high top tennis shoes, and her precious, artsy friend Martha. I wanted to be with them on every excursion they went on. Magnin is a master of the word and this book is a must read. If you are headed out to the beach, love to read at lunch time, or just want to be taken away and you are out of Calgon this book is for you.

A Hopeful Heart
About The Book: In A Hopeful Heart, the first novel of the new Hearts of the Lancaster Grand Hotel series from best-selling author Amy Clipston, Hannah finds herself at a crossroads in her life. Her community offers her love and support after the untimely death of her husband, but an Englisher offers her the chance of a new life after her unexpected tragedy. Wealthy businessman Trey Peterson is surprised by his attraction to the gentle Amish woman who works as a housekeeper in the Lancaster Grand Hotel. They share a common bond of loss and are able to offer each other comfort and support as they journey through their grief. Joshua Glick wants nothing more than to offer his friendship and love to Hannah and her family. Not only is he her late husband’s brother and business partner, he has always been in love with Hannah. A Hopeful Heart is filled with surprising twists as Hannah tries to balance her life in the Amish community and her growing love for an outsider.

About The Author: Amy Clipston is a member of the Authors Guild, American Christian Fiction Writers, and Romance Writers of America. She works full-time for the City of Charlotte. Her home includes husband, Joe; two sons, Zac and Matt; mother, Lola; and four spoiled rotten cats, Molly, Rico, Jet, and Lilly. She is an advocate for organ and blood donation. She donated a kidney on June 14, 2011, at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Through her donation, her husband received a second kidney transplant. Her husband and Clipston herself matched another couple and they swapped kidneys with them. She gave a kidney to her husband's donor's wife. Feel free to check out her website: http://amyclipston.com.
My Thoughts About The Book: I love Amish fiction and was thrilled to have the opportunity to review this book for Thomas Nelson's Book Sneeze Blogging Program. Because it was an Amish story I devoured the book and read this book all the way through in one day. Once I started it I could not put it down. The resolution was a bit hard to swallow. Trey and Hannah fell in love too quickly, after just one brief conversation. I haven't read an Amish fiction book where things were resolved in that way, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. Clifton does not portray the Amish as perfect people like most Amish fiction does. This particular Order of Amish seemed to be terribly judgmental and gossipy. Although many of them were kind and gentle, they were human and things around her were not perfect. Personally I don't believe this would happen where two people – one Amish and one Englisher would act on feelings of this magnitude so fast. I knew from the moment they met that Hannah would end up leaving her Order and marrying Trey. I also knew that her decision would eventually affect her whole family. I was very frustrated with Hannah, Trey, Barbie, and Josh because of their actions yet the characters and the storyline and characters came across as real. This could really happen today. I believe the story was one that portrayed the struggles that Amish widows face. It was a good story about the Amish way of life and the struggles Amish women may face. I would love to read a follow up of the main characters. I really liked Hannah; her character was really likeable. I really thought Trey, and two of Hannah's children were likeable too. I can understand the struggles the other child was probably going through though. I felt all the characters were well-rounded and very thought out. This book was a gem. Even though I was not entirely sold on the book I would still like to read the entire set of stories from the Hearts of the Lancaster Grand Hotel Series.

A Bride For All Seasons: The Mail Order Bride Collection
About The Book: It all started with an ad in a mail-order bride catalogue . . .
Luvena would be perfect for Clay if she didn’t come with kids. But kids are a deal breaker, especially in a rough-and-trouble mining town. e trouble is, there’s no money to send them back . . .
“Winter Wedding Bells” by Mary Connealy
Disclaimer: I received this book through Litfuse Publicity Groups blogging program, NetGalley Publishers, and Thomas Nelson for review purposes. Thank you both for the opportunity to read this book. It was wonderful!
This charming bouquet of novellas introduces you to four Hitching Post Mail-Order Bride Catalogue prospects in the year 1870, all eager for second chances . . . and hungry for happiness. Year in, year out, they’ll learn that love often comes in unexpected packages.
“And then Came Spring” by Margaret Brownley
Mary-Jo has traveled halfway across the country to meet her match, arriving just in time for his funeral. Returning home seems like her only option until her would-be brother-in-law proposes a more daring idea.
“An Ever After Summer” by Debra Clopton
Ellie had no idea she’s not what Matthew ordered. And what’s wrong with being a “Bible thumper” anyway? She’s determined to show him she’s tougher than she looks—and just the girl he needs.
“Autumn’s Angel” by Robin Lee HatcherLuvena would be perfect for Clay if she didn’t come with kids. But kids are a deal breaker, especially in a rough-and-trouble mining town. e trouble is, there’s no money to send them back . . .
“Winter Wedding Bells” by Mary Connealy
David’s convinced he’s not long for the world. He needs someone to mother his boys when he’s gone—nothing more. Can plucky Irish Megan convince him to work at living instead of dying?
My Thoughts On The Book: If you like reading clean historical romance books and enjoy mail-order bride stories then this book is for you. It is a sweet collection of four novellas by four different authors: And Then Came Spring by Margaret Brownley, An Ever After Summer by Debra Clopton, Autumn's Angel by Robin Lee Hatcher, and Winter Wedding Bells by Mary Connealy about four women whose lives were irrevocably changed by becoming a mail-order bride – when times were hard out west and women were few. Each story represents a different season in 1870 I loved them all! I loved the fact that all four mail-order bride stories are tied together by the common bond of Melvin Hitchcock from The Hitching Post, a mail-order bride catalogue with a high rate of successful marriages. None of the couples in the four novellas are matched up as they expected to be, when Hitchcock takes it upon himself to play cupid of sorts. This book is loads of fun and very entertaining to read. You cannot wait until the next calamity occurs. It is not an epic read but it is good for an afternoon to drift into the life of four mail-order brides. It is delightful. There are three discussion questions for each novella in the back. This would be a great Book Club read!

When God Makes Lemonade
About The Book: In When God Makes Lemonade, author Don Jacobson has collected real-life stories from around the world that show everyday folks discovering unexpected sweetness in the midst of sour circumstances. Some are funny, others are sobering, and more than a few will bring tears of amazement. But these true stories all have one thing in common: hope. There's no question that life gives us "lemons," like issues with health, employment, and relationships. But when those lemons become lemonade, it's as refreshing as a cold drink on a hot summer day. It's true that in life "stuff" happens, but as you'll see in these stories, lemonade happens too!
About The Author: Living Lemonade Story(in his own words).
"Hi, I’m Don Jacobson, and I’m a walking, talking lemonade story. Back in 1980, I was a happily married twenty-four-year-old who enjoyed a physically demanding job in commercial construction. I knew my future was bright, and I knew what it would take to get there: hard work, planning, and dedication. Then, one winter night, a shooting accident changed everything. I nearly died as I lay for hours beneath a tree, but miracle after miracle happened to keep me alive—a story you can read in full in God Makes Lemonade. I spent nine agonizing days in critical condition, and nearly a month in the hospital. When I left, things looked bleak, and I could no longer physically provide for my family. It took a while for God to turn that lemon into lemonade, but in the end it was wonderfully sweet. I began to work in Christian publishing, and the shape of my life changed forever. Now, 25 years later, I see that not being able to work with my hands forced me to work with my head and heart, and both my family and my career became better than I could ever have imagined. My wife, Brenda, and I know that the hardships of life have molded our characters and turned us into people we would never have been apart from the pain. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the hardest times of my life for anything, because they led me toward something better . . . something God had planned all along. When I share my lemonade story with friends, two amazing things happen. My story inspires others and gives them hope. Then, almost without fail, my friends excitedly tell me their lemonade story, and I’m filled with inspiration and hope in return. Recently it hit me: we all have lemonade stories—so what would happen if we could share them with the people around the world who need them most? That’s the dream of the God Makes Lemonade series: to publish true stories to encourage people in sour circumstances that God is at work making lemonade. What’s your story?"
My Thoughts On The Book: We all have a lemonade story or two tucked back in our memories. I am no exception. This book touched every fiber of my being. Each story was different and although they may not have all touched me directly, as a paster's wife they all provided some nugget I could keep with me for future reference. Each dramatic story is woven together in this tight night book and very encouraging. It is the kind of book you can read in one sitting (if you have enough kleenex on hand), or read a few at each sitting. We all need hope in our lives and this book is exactly what the doctor ordered. Each story is filled with hope and grace....and love. It was a blessing to read this book and I hope my readers will want to read it too. It is captivating and filled with gifts just for the reader. Life does give us lemons sometimes but God can take those hardships and make them into something better....Lemonade.

The Women's Study Bible - Signature Series
About The Book (from back cover): The Woman's Study Bible New International Version is a priceless treasure, poignantly delivering the Word of God to a woman's heart. It provides the tools for the reader to dig deeper in the The Word with inspiring articles by Anne Graham Lotz, Stormie Omartian, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Roberta Hromas, Kimberly Daniels Linda Dillow Kathy Troccoli, Dee Brestin, and Emilie Barnes. It helps you to get acquainted with over 100 women in the Bible, there are hundreds of verse-by-verse notes, it includes over 300 articles on topics for women, there are book introductions and outlines, and tons more.
My Thoughts About The Book: The Woman's Study Bible is a extremely informative, easy to read, and encouraging. The copy I was sent is the NIV version. The text was so easy to understand compared to other versions of the Bible. This is definitely a Bible geared specifically and only for women. I was very excited to review this Bible. I was out of town and actually used the bible in church and found myself caught up with all the helps that really enhanced the sermon I was hearing. They really clarified the sermon topic for me.
I really enjoyed this Bible. I recommend this to anyone searching for a nice Bible to give to a woman, girl, graduate, or possibly even a bride. The color scheme of this Bible is earth-toned, soft, feminine and attractive, but not too "frilly" as to be distracting.
Disclaimer: My review copy (received from Thomas Nelson's Booksneeze program/Shelton Interactive for the purpose of this review) is a hard copy version.

The Color Of Hope
About the Book: Hope shines brightest when all seems lost. Stephanie London led a life of comfort and ease in St. Louis before feeling inexplicably drawn back to her father’s roots in the tiny Southern town of Hope Springs. Charlotte Willoughby has lived there all her life and longs to make a new life somewhere else. Stephanie doesn’t know exactly what she’s doing there—or how to occupy her time. And Charlotte doesn’t understand why, despite her overbearing family and reminders of her failed engagement, she’s suddenly led to stay. Despite its small-town charm, Hope Springs itself is at a crossroads. After a failed reconciliation attempt by two well-meaning pastors, the town is split along racial and cultural lines, with little hope for redemption. When a terrible tragedy puts Hope Springs on the national radar, the entire town is tested, and both Stephanie and Charlotte feel their lives unraveling. In the midst of heartache, though, they’ll discover the true color of hope . . .
About The Author(In Her Own Words): "My life is marked by one big bright neon line down the center, showing a clear before and after. For twenty-seven years, I lived without Christ, and everything was colored by the things of this world. Growing up in Prince George’s County, Maryland, raised by divorced parents, black, female, college and law school-educated—all of it and more informed my opinions, decisions, attitudes, and actions.
All of it gave me a ground-level perspective. But in my mid-20s, God, in His lovingkindness, began to draw me—by dragging me halfway across the country from the D.C. area to Madison, Wisconsin. Away from friends, family, and the diversity I’d always known, I was miserable. I cried out to God . . . the God I’d heard about in Catholic grade school. Didn’t they say He could perform miracles? Then surely He could get me out of there! God did perform a miracle, but not in the way I sought. He didn’t get me out of Madison. He changed me forever in Madison. He saved me, raised me, and seated me in heavenly places. Suddenly I had an aerial view. The bright neon line was drawn, and my “after” would begin. But I didn’t understand any of that at first. I had no idea God would change everything about my world. With broad brushstrokes, He began to paint over my perspective as I grew to know Him and His Word. We did eventually leave Madison. We moved to Dallas, then St. Louis, where we’ve lived for ten years. But as the seasons of our lives shift, that same “coloring” process continues. I haven’t had a single day yet where something about my perspective didn’t need adjusting. As a wife of nineteen years and mom of two teens, I don’t have to look far to find a challenge, struggle, or worry. Add the other hats I wear and, well, you can probably identify. But no matter the issue, when I color my perspective in Christ, things change. I find hope, peace, and joy. I find eternal wisdom. I find truth."
My Thoughts On The Book: The Color of Hope picks up where Hope Springs left off. I fell in love with Hope Springs from page one and was so happy to be reviewing another one of Kim Cash Tate's books. the author deals with real life issues in her books in a fictional manner. In this set of books she deals with racial issues, romance and bullying. Tate is a powerful user of words as she lets you get inside the skin of her characters. By the time you have finished reading it is as if you are family, or at least old friends. I highly recommend reading this book! You do not need to read Hope Springs before this book unless you are really interested in getting to know the families better, but I recommend it too. I look forward to reading many more books by Kim Cash Tate.

Journeys Across Niagara
About The Book: A faded picture sets in motion a perilous journey for five young men in 1962, who, with a twist of mystery and revelation not only encounter harrowing adventure in the forbidden Niagara Gorge, but are forced to confront the swirling illusions of the world and God—changing their lives forever. More than a simple tale of camaraderie and adventure, this is a fascinating tale rich in historical fact and stories of visitors journeying through Niagara on the underground railroad and the Devil’s Hole Massacre. Journeys across America is a kaleidoscope of adventure and history exploring the questions confronting people of all ages.
About The Author(exerpt fom his blog): "LeVick was born and raised on the Niagara Frontier, growing up on the Upper Niagara River. He spent his formative years as a ‘river rat’, not in awe, but in fear of the mighty Cataract, viewing it as a threat to his Upper river escapades. More than once, LeVick and his fellow rats barely escaped the swift current while tubing down the river or fishing off of Navy Island in a rubber raft above the great Falls.
His perspective changed the first time he went down into the gorge below the Falls and “discovered” the lower river. There, like Saul on the road to Damascus, he was overcome by the wonder of the river and consumed by the mystery of it"
My Thoughts On The Book: Having been to the Falls in 2012 when Nick Wallenda walked them and reading several legends and histories about the Falls, I was very excited to review this book. I was disappointed at how slow the book started out. I did not think the first journey would ever end. The Underground Railroad part of the journey was very intereting and since my class just studied Harriet Tubman it was enjoyable to hear her story in a different light. I really hated the language used in this story and that kept me from really enjoying this book. I honestly could not wait for it to end so I could be done.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Book Sneeze. Thomas Nelson's review program for bloggers, Blogging for Books. I was not required to write a positive review. All they asked for was an honest review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

The Sky Beneath My Feet
What happens next is both uproarious and bittersweet: a peace march turns violent, her son is caught with drugs, and she embarks on an ambitious road trip that turns into something nearly surreal. Will Beth rediscover the idealistic woman she used to be, once upon a time? Can her marriage survive Rick's backyard vigil? Will anything ever be the same? And should it be?
Truthful, comic, heartbreaking, and magical in the very best sense of the word, The Sky Beneath My Feet gently tears the veil off our egos and expectations to reveal the throbbing, redemptive, and achingly beautiful life beyond and within us.
About The Author: "The Christy Award-winning author of Christianity Today's Novel of the Year Quaker Summer, Lisa Samson has been hailed by Publishers Weekly as one of the "most powerful voices in Christian fiction." She lives in Kentucky with her husband and three children."
My Thoughts About The Book: As a pastor's wife I know first hand how easy it is to get caught up in the the busyness of life. This book was remarkable. I felt as if I walked right into Beth's life and was part of the story. The book was funny, sad, thought provoking, and just when it could not get any better...it did. From the beginning to the end walking in Beth's shoes... her quirky neighbors, was quite a journey. Lisa Samson is a master wordsmith and truly makes her characters come alive on the page. This is a must read. Once I started the book I could not put it down. I can't wait to read something else by her.

Moon Over Edisto
About The Book: The past has come knocking on Julia's door. Can she summon the courage to answer betrayal with love? Julia’s best friend, Marney, broke up her parents' marriage years ago. Now Marney shows up at her Manhattan apartment, asking the impossible—come home to Edisto Island to care for the half-sisters and half-brother she has never known. Marney, recently widowed, has lung cancer. There's no other family to care for the children while she’s in the hospital following surgery. Julia loathes Marney. But if she doesn’t step in, her own mother—who has never gotten over the divorce—will be called upon to take care of the children. So she heads to South Carolina to keep the peace. On Edisto, she begins to reconnect with the place and the people and she’s been running from her whole adult life. There’s the local doctor who once stole a kiss from her on that very beach, and the siblings she’s never known—especially the sister with selective mutism named Etta who’s the keeper of nearly every family secret . . . including the very one that just might bind-up Julia’s long-since shattered heart.
About The Author: Beth Webb Hart, a Southy Carolina native, is the best-selling author of Grace at Low Tide and The Wedding Machine. She serves as a speaker and creative writing instructor at schools, libraries, and churches throughout the region, and she has received two national teaching awards from Scholastic, Inc. Hart lives with her husband and their family in Charleston.
My Thoughts On The Book: I have traveled many times throughout the Charleston region and it tugs at my heart every time I am there. As a child I used to dream I was a true Charlestonian, but alas. Edisto Island has always been one of my favorite get-aways. There is something extremely magical there. The story line drew you right in as Beth Webb Hart's books usually do. From the beginning of the book I found myself emotionally attached to the characters. I loved the way this story unfolded as a tale of forgiveness and letting go of the past. God is portrayed as the omnipotent one he is giving Julia what her heart desires even though she is not really aware that she wants it. At one point in the story Julia thinks Marney is destroying her life for a second time only to realize she is about to make a huge mistake in marrying Simon and that Marney is actually giving her what she truly desires and needs in her life...children and Edisto. I could not put this book down and as the story drew to a close I found myself hoping this would be a series. There was so much I still needed to know about Etta, Meg, Mary Ellen, Charlie, Jed and their lives on Edisto Island. What an amazing book by a truly wonderful wordsmith!

An Angel by Her Side
The main character, Katie has lived through tragedy and heartache. But with the angel Elias by her side, the best years of her life are just ahead. When Katie Bender’s fiancĂ© died in a tragic accident, so did her hope of finding love. Though heartbroken, Katie is also practical. In the years since the accident she has discovered her gift for teaching. But when a tornado destroys her small Amish settlement, including the schoolhouse, Katie doesn’t know how she will provide for herself. Seth Stutzman arrived in Hope Falls days before the storm. And when he helps usher Katie and the children to safety, sparks fly. But Seth is only in town to help his brother, Amos, get back on his feet following the death of his wife. He can’t afford to have feelings for Katie. Rebuilding the community is a huge task, and soon, Katie and Seth are working side by side. As they privately wrestle with their feelings for each other, another silent—and ultimate—battle for their hearts rages unseen. Sworn to protect what God has ordained, the mighty angel Elias appears to them as a mysterious visitor. And with his guidance, Katie and Seth find the courage to take the first small steps toward the life, and love, they were destined to have.
About The Author: Ruth Reid is a full-time pharmacist who lives in Florida with her husband and three children. When attending Ferris State University School of Pharmacy in Big Rapids, Michigan, she lived on the outskirts of an Amish community and had several occasions to visit the Amish farms. Her interest grew into love as she saw the beauty in living a simple life.
About The Book: The story begins after Katie Bender loses her fiance in a tragic accident. She found peace in teaching. But when the school is destroyed by a tornado and the community doesn't want to rebuild, her future looks grim. She must either find another occupation or move away from her family and friends. Fortunately, she has an angel by her side. When I first began reading the book I thought the story was a little hokey. At first it reminded me of the television series, "Touched By An Angel." As a fan of the series, even though it is a bit farfetched I found myself caught up in the lives of the characters. The battles that incurred between Elias and Razzen added a new dimention to the Amish novel as it usually is. The ending was predictable but the story was sweet and an enjoyable read. I can't wait to read the first two books in the series now.

More Than A Bucket List

But too often we lose sight of those dreams and get buried in everyday busyness and demands. More Than a Bucket List will inspire you to seize and act on a range of dreams—anything from visiting the Holy Land, donating your time at a soup kitchen, learning to climb a tree, or helping a child learn to read. The book also includes ideas to make lasting memories as you marvel at a new sight, laugh like crazy with an old friend, or change a life.
About The Author: Toni Birdsong , co-author of @stickyJesus: how to live out your faith online, is a partner in Birdsong Creative, a visual communications, marketing, and Web firm in Franklin, Tennessee. They are members of Grace Chapel in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee where Toni serves in the women’s and youth ministries.
My Thoughts On The Book: I love laughter. Laughter reminds me that life is a joy. Proverbs 17:22 tells us “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Twenty years ago I began my own Bucket List filled with things I wanted to accomplish in my life. As I completed one I added another. I am just like man others who walk this earth. I dream about places I want to see, peopleI am dying to meet, and things I want to do before I meet my maker. Along the way I have lost track of some dreams and buried some others because life got in my way. and demands. This wonderful gift book, More Than a Bucket List lit the fire in me to began seeking my dreams and adding a greater perspective to my life….God’s! I love the way that Birdsong divides her book thematically and fills each chapter with God’s word and wonderful personal narratives I really loved the pages in the back that were set aside for the reader to write their very own bucket list I cannot wait to take wing once more and soar!

About The Author: Beth Wiseman is hailed as a top voice in Amish fiction. She is a Carol Award winner and author of numerous bestsellers including the Daughters of the Promise series and the Land of Canaan series. She and her family live in Texas.
My Thoughts About The Book: Beth Wiseman has an amazing talent for weaving stories together. This story tells about an Amish family and English family who’s lives are shattered by decisions made by many….yet….within the story there is the truth that God's love does endure forever. I have read many of Wisemans books and believe this is one of my favorites. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Amish fiction It is definitely a good story and so much more. The story line is not your typical Amish fiction. This story is not so much about the Ordnung but instead it is about the people and God's love. I read this book without reading the first two and had no trouble getting up to speed on the story and the characters. However, I would highly recommend that anyone interested in this book should read the whole series, you won't be sorry.

When Beth isn't writing (which is seldom these days) she enjoys traveling, cooking, fishing, reading, or just settling in for a good movie. Her best times are spent with family and friends!
MY THOUGHTS: After I discovered Beth Wiseman a year ago, through Amish fiction, I have waited for each new book to make an appearance. I was surprised when I realized that this book ventures from the Amish fiction genre to a Contemporary genre and she does it beautifully. As I high school teacher I felt a strong connection with the issues depicted in this book. These issues are relevant to families no matter where they are. The family from the story live in a tiny town, yet you can find this same story happening in a large city. It was the kind of book I could not put down once I started reading. I actually wanted life to just stop and let me be a part of the book. The message and the outcome are so very important and help the reader see just how important God is in their lives. I give it a four star rating and would encourage all my readers to go grab a copy today. I promise you won’t regret it.

God Loves Broken People
About the Book: When the glass house Sheila lived in for many years came crashing to the ground, she began a new life outside the safety of those walls. No...it did not feel good or safe, but it did feel true. In twelve stirring, insightful, and revealing chapters, Sheila Walsh shows how personal brokenness can open doors of intimacy with Jesus Christ that might not ever open in any other way. At the end of the book there is a free, in-depth Bible study for individuals and small groups included.
About the Author: Sheila Walsh consistently writes books that speak from her heart for the hearts of so many that need an encouraging word. Want to know more about her? Want to see her live? Visit her website by clicking here. I've heard Sheila Walsh speak and sing a number of times in and out of the Women of Faith environment and felt myself drawn to her pleading Scottish voice. Even from the very beginning of the book, I could hear her quiet soothing voice speaking each word just to me. Walsh talks on a level that is so personal that you can't help but like her and wish she was a friend you were having coffee with. She expresses in the beginning, “ that if there was only one book she could write in her lifetime, it would be this book.”
My Thoughts: As I began reading Sheila Walsh's new book God Loves Broken People it came to me immediately that she was talking directly to me. Her words grabbed me, especially with the description of what a Shepard must do for a "bummer" lamb, the one who is not accepted by his mama. Having experienced huge pain and many catastrophic events in my life I was certain that this book was written specifically for me. I have had many times I have felt like I was unworthy and did not deserve God's love. I would recommend this book to anyone who struggles with trust, love or acceptance. This book is filled with hope and written by a world class story-teller.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com, a book review bloggers program. My Thoughts About the Book: The story starts out painfully slow and never really picked up. At one point I almost jumped to the last chapter to read the finale, but chose to keep plugging on. Once I figured out where it was going I managed to get through the book. I was a little disappointed in the plot development and found it difficult to make the jumps from character to character. I do have to say that Vesey was a wonderfully developed male character. He was strong, faithful and loving. Ally’s character did nothing for me. Sunila’s story is heartbreaking. I cried for her. The book was very sad and just not quite the kind of book I usually look for. This is the type book that you must read with an open mind and heart as you’re reminded that we all fit into the bigger picture of God’s plan. It was also a reminder for me about God’s time.
