My daughter drew it. And Budsies made it come to life.
Budsies is this fabulous company that takes a drawing and turns it into a stuffed friend. When I first heard about the concept I knew my daughter would love it. She's a big fan of stuffed friends. I asked her to draw a picture of anything she wanted. She decided on a butterfly because "I like how they fly."

It was incredibly easy to make a budsie. I simply took a picture of Natalie's drawing and uploaded it to their site. This took less than 5 minutes. You can even add extra instructions. Mine were to please make the wings red. Natalie didn't make hers red in the drawing because she claimed it would take too long. This probably worked out for the best because then you were able to see her detailed drawings on the wings easier.
If your kid might not want to draw but still wants a Budsie, they offer templates on their site for a beginning start. All your kid has to do is add details such as the eyes and colors. I really liked the Nosy one. And if your kid makes an abstract drawing, it's okay, still upload it and Budsies can probably still create something! The artwork has to be approved before you are charged so you won't have to worry about something not working.
The toy takes about a month to be completed and when it arrived, I was impressed with how similiar it looked to Natalie's drawing. I also loved the tag that was attached:

It's also well made. It's not going to rip or tear. I was worried that maybe one of the green eyes would pop off but no, the materials used are fantastic.
Budsies also does something fantastic in November. For every Budsie ordered, they will donate a duplicate toy to a child in need over the holidays.
