The other day I stepped in dog poop. In my yard. AND I DON’T EVEN HAVE A DOG.
I’ve also had to deal with dogs that break free from their backyards. Living on this base you’ll generally see a loose dog at least once a day. Sometimes it’s the same dog.
Now. If you KNOW your dog breaks free make an effort to ensure that it won’t again. Don’t just stick it back in the yard and hope for the best. These fences on base are cheap. I get that. But the good dog owners know to line the fence with cinder blocks to keep their animals in. The bad dog owners don’t bother.
I’m tired of stepping in feces. I’m tired of dealing with other people’s animals.
I know I wouldn’t have the patience for a dog. That’s why I don’t have one. So I shouldn’t be punished by dog issues.
I’m on a military spouses page for this base and you’ll constantly see owners with posts like, “My dog got loose!” And like I said before, it’s usually the SAME dog and they’ll think it’s funny. It’s not funny. The first time it’s okay. The second time means you aren’t trying.
Also, if your dog is constantly barking, bring it inside. The neighborhood doesn’t want to hear it.
The moral of this post is, take care of your animals or, for heaven’s sake, find someone who will.
