Hodge Podge - Vol 92

Here are Joyce's, this week's Hodgepodge questions and my responses. If you've been here before then you know the drill. If you're new to the HP then, welcome! Answer the questions on your own blog then hop back here, read mine, then click here and link answers with the rest of the blogging world.
Okay, here we go....
1. In your opinion what's the most important job in the world? Oh, and parenting is a given so besides parenting, what's the most important job in the world?  This one is tough....many jobs play off others....teachers, nurses, firefighters, police would be a few I would choose.

2. Share a favorite or not so favorite memory from a childhood birthday.  On my 13th birthday at Verdes Bowling Alley I was allowed to invite 13 people and each one gave me baby doll pajamas.  On my 40th birthday my first husband invited a group of our friends for supper. He was going to grill out....it was a surprise for me.  He fished a bass tournament that day....and won...instead of being home at 3 when he was supposed to be....to get the food prepared for 30 people.....he did not get home until after 6....towing a new bass boat.....with no card or gift for me.  I ended up cooking for the guests and we had eaten by the time he finally got all his stuff put away.  It was not the best day in my life...but one I was used to.

3. Peanut butter-crunchy or smooth?   Smooth. since I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Collitis I can't have nuts.

4. William Butler Yeats is credited as saying, "Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that but simply growth, We are happy when we are growing." Your thoughts?  I am happiest when I am learning and growing.

5. What's something that makes you cringe?  That is easy....blood.  Well and passing semi trucks on the interstate...with them on my side of the car.

6. Name a song that always puts you in a good mood?  Testify to Love by Avalon.  It makes me want to skip.

7. The answer is yes. What's the question?  Have you worked a fire call yet?  Yep, last night.

8. Insert your own random thought here.    Today is Be Late For Something Day.  Are you always on time?  early?  or perpetually late?  I have some friends that we tell them 1 hour ahead of when something is starting so they will be on time.  Never fails there is always one in the crowd.  Are you that one?
